The Best Pudding Cake

Cake recipes are great for any occasion. This wonderful recipe is made with both cake mix and pudding mix to give it a rich and moist flavor. Covered with a sugary glaze, indulge yourself in a slice or two.

Ingredients
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 package of instant lemon pudding mix
  • 1 can (16-ounces) fruit cocktail in heavy syrup
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • extract or flavoring if desired
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
     
  2. Blend all cake ingredients except for brown sugar and nuts and beat 4 minutes with electric mixer at med. speed.
     
  3. Pour into a well greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and nuts.
     
  4. Bake in a 325 oven about 45 minutes or tested done. Cool 15 minutes.
     
  5. Meanwhile make glaze by combining glaze ingredients and boiling for 2 minutes. Pour over warm cake.

NO 2 STATES TO BLEND ALL INGREDIENTS EXCDEPT BROWN SUGAR AND NUTS SO THIS WOULD INCLUDETHE FRUIT COCKTAIL...

Does ANYONE read these recipes before there are printed ? The fruit cocktail is not mentioned in the preparation. When does it go in? PLEASE print a correction !
