Heavenly Angel Food Cake

This Heavenly Angel Food Cake is positively divine. Try this easy angel food cake recipe for a soft, cloud-like cake that is sinfully delicious. Pair it with strawberries, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, or any other toppings your heart desires!

Cooking Time: 1 hr 15 min

Ingredients
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups egg white
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees F.
     
  2. Sift flour with 1 cup sugar four times. Set aside.
     
  3. Beat egg whites with salt until foamy; then add cream of tartar and beat until stiff.
     
  4. Add the 3/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, beating into egg whites. Add vanilla.
     
  5. Sift flour and sugar mixture over top of whites a little at a time and fold in.
     
  6. Bake in an ungreased 10-inch tube pan for 65-75 minutes. Invert pan to cool.
