Easy Apple Chicken


Give your baked chicken recipes a fruity kick. This Easy Apple Chicken is full of complimentary flavors and is good for those trying to budget meals.

Yields: 2

  • 1/2 small onion, sliced
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • flour, enough to coat top of chicken
  1. Saute onion in oil. Add chicken and coat with salt, pepper and flour. brown quickly.
  2. Add cumin and stir. Add water and juices.
  3. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
  4. Serve with some of the sauce and onion over chicken.


Recipe may be doubled (4 breasts), but use only HALF the sauce ingredients.

@parliamary, It's just a suggestion from the original author of this recipe. Go ahead and add the same amount of sauce, or maybe start with half and add more if necessary. I agree it doesn't really make sense. Thanks!

It doesn't make sense to half the sauce incredients when doubling the recipe to four chickend breasts. Or does it mean to keep the amount of sauce incredients the same for two or four chicken breasts?
