This is a nice, fast, easy breakfast to make. I've made these many times, and I'll often use slices of light rye bread instead of white or whole wheat. I like the combination of the sausage patty and fried egg, and I'd enjoy sprinkling some shredded cheddar over the top of both. I'm not fond of maple syrup on anything but pancakes and waffles, so my topping of choice for a dish like this is salsa.
