60-Minute Cinnamon Breakfast Rolls

It's no secret that everyone loves cinnamon rolls, and this recipe will give you some of the easiest and gooiest you've ever had in just one hour! These easy cinnamon rolls are sure to put a smile on anyone's face, but might just be the perfect thing to serve to Mom on Mother's Day. Breakfast in bed never tasted so good with this simple recipe. Serve these rolls with a side of fruit and a tall glass of OJ, for the perfect, sweet start to the day.

Serves: 12

Cooking Time: 25 min

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup quite warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
     
  2. Combine the 1/2 cup of warm milk, salt, sugar, yeast, egg, shortening and flour and knead.
     
  3. Roll out into a 12"x7" rectangle.
     
  4. Combine butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, powdered sugar, and the 2 tablespoons of milk.
     
  5. Spread the dough rectangle with half the mixture.
     
  6. Roll up the long way and cut 12 rolls.
     
  7. Place in a 9" round pan.
     
  8. Let rise 25-30 minutes.
     
  9. Bake 20-25 minutes at 400F degrees.
     
  10. While still warm, frost with the other half of the cinnamon mixture.

I see that there were several comments about these rolls being dry. Has any modifications been made to correct the problem?

I think if you would (after you geease the pan,) mix a little milk brown sugar, cinnamon & sugar ,mix in a bowl and covered the bottom of the pan then put your cinnamon rolls on top and ater they are done baking. and them up side done and they won't be so dry yum yum

What's quite warm milk?

Not like my Mom use to make. Seemed a total waste of time, food and money.
