Cracker Barrel's Meatloaf Dinner

One of our favorite dishes to order at Cracker Barrel is the tasty meatloaf. It's hearty and fills us up in the best way possible. With this recipe for a homemade version of Cracker Barrel's Meatloaf Dinner, you can cook up your own restaurant-style meal. Mixing together amazing flavors like ground beef, sharp cheddar cheese, onion, brown sugar and ketchup, you can only imagine how great the end result will taste. When you serve this meatloaf dinner to your family, you're sure to get rave reviews. This is a top-notch Cracker Barrel copycat recipe you'll use again and again.

Cooking Time: 1 hr 10 min

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs or crushed crackers (like Ritz)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 onion, minced very fine
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 4 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Beat together eggs; add milk and bread crumbs or crushed crackers.
     
  3. Stir in onion, cheese, salt and pepper.
     
  4. Mix in ground beef and put mixture into a loaf pan that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
     
  5. Combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard to make topping.
     
  6. Cook meat in loaf pan for about 30 minutes, then spoon half of the ketchup mixture on top. Return loaf to oven for about 30 more minutes of baking.
     
  7. Spoon the rest of the topping over the meatloaf, return to oven and bake for 5-10 minutes more.
     
  8. Let meatloaf sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
