Homemade sloppy joes is so much better than using a can sauce, isn't it? I love making our own using fresh peppers and onions. We saute them up with the hamburger, and then we add some green pepper when the sauce is done to keep a little crunch in the mix. I like some crunch in my sloppy joes unless I have crispy fries to go with it.

I don't have a recipe for homemade sloppy joes so I'm glad that I discovered this. If you are looking for a quick meal idea, this is for you. For a healthier version of this recipe, I would use lean ground beef or ground turkey. I would also omit the olive oil when browning the meat. Out of personal preference, I would exclude the tabasco sauce from the sloppy joes mixture.

Thank you for a great recipe that is so much better than the canned stuff. I love to have sloppy joes ready on a football Sunday. This makes a good amount and it is so tasty. I go light on the pepper and onion, but I think the other flavors make these sandwiches a hit.

I have been looking for a tasty sloppy Joe recipe to make for the five of us. I love the use of fresh veggies and condiments you already have in the fridge. It makes it something quick to whip up and serve when you have a ton of things you would rather be doing outside.

I am so excited that I found this recipe. It was my favorite hot lunch at school many years ago. I have tried many of your dessert recipes for different church activities and they were all a big hit. I even won 1st place with your peanut butter pie recipe in our annual pie contest at church last spring. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes.

Can't wait to try this. Total comfort food.
