Easy Southern Pecan Pie Bars

Your favorite pie recipe just got an extreme makeover into one of our new favorite recipes for dessert bars. Easy Southern Pecan Pie bars have everything you love about pecan pie. From the chewy pecans on top to the gooey and sweet center that makes pecan pie so delicious, these dessert bars have it all.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, for the crust
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cup Karo Light or Dark Syrup
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Grease bottom and sides of 15x10x1-inch baking pan. In large bowl with mixer at medium speed beat flour, sugar, margarine and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; press firmly and evenly into pan.
     
  3. Bake in 350 degree F oven 20 minutes.
     
  4. While crust is baking, prepare filling. In large bowl stir eggs, corn syrup, sugar, margarine and vanilla until blended; stir in pecans. Spread evenly over hot crust.
     
  5. Bake in 350 degree oven 25 minutes of until set. Cool on wire rack. Makes 48 bars.
