Barbecued Pork

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds pork loin cut into 1x2" strips with the grain
  • 1 TB minced ginger root
  • 1 TB minced garlic (or more if you like)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 TB Shao Hsing wind or dry sherry
  • 1 TB catsup
  • 1 TB hoisin sauce
  • 1 TB ground bean sauce
  • 1 Tsp five spice powder
Instructions

Serves about 8. Mix marinade and pour over the meat. Mix well, and refrigerate overnight. Place a large baking pan filled with 1/2 inch of water on the lower oven rack. Preheat the oven to 450F. Glaze: 3 TB honey 1 TB soy sauce 1 tp sesame oil Combine glaze in a small saucepan and 1 TB of marinade. Bring to a boil and turn heat off. Lay the strips on an oiled rack in the center of the oven and cook for 20 minutes at 450F. Reduce to 350F. Roast for an additional 30 minutes, brushing with glaze several times during this period. Take the meat out and cool for 15 minutes. Slice meat into bite size slices.
