Wild & Crazy Cheese Straws


Looking for unique and easy appetizer recipes that will wow your guests? These Wild Crazy Cheese Straws are unlike anything you've ever tasted before. Made with Rice Krispies, Bisquick baking mix and sharp cheddar cheese, these snacks are beyond delicious. Make these crispy snacks for your next get-together and you're sure to get asked for the recipe!

  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 dash Tabasco sauce
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Mix the melted butter and Bisquick together.
  3. Add remaining ingredients.
  4. Form small balls using hands and then flatten into "straws."
  5. Bake until golden brown.

Made the cheese straws for Christmas Eve and was very disappointed. Couldn't form into balls....they fell apart before I had them on the cookie sheet. I have to say it is the first recipe I have had trouble with since I joined the site.
