Don't bother picking up Cheez-Its at the grocery store, instead make them for yourself. This delicious appetizer recipe is great for parties and tastes just like the real thing. Coming from Tess at Slow Cooking Kitchen, you wont be able to stop at just one.

Preparation Time: 5 min

Cooking Time: 20 min

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 stick of butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons to 4 teaspoons of cold water (if needed)
  • 3 teaspoons to 4 teaspoons of flour (if necessary)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. Add dry ingredients to food processor; pulse until crumbles form. Gradually add water, if necessary, 1 teaspoon at a time, until mixture is moist enough to form a ball; or if mixture is too moist, add flour, 1 teaspoon at a time.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough until it is about 1/8" thickness. Using a sharp knife, slice the dough into 1" squares.
  4. Place squares on prepared cooking sheets and bake on middle rack for 7-10 minutes, or until a light golden brown. Remove from heat and cool on wire rack for approximately 10 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce or enjoy them as they are.
