Antipasta Aglio

This fantastic garlic antipasta atop toasted french bread is a divine appetizer for your next party. Pair this free recipe with a great glass of white wine and you're set!

Ingredients

  • 30 cloves garlic
  • 1 can (2-ounce) anchovy fillets
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 dash Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 dozen slices baquette french bread, thinly sliced and toasted

Instructions

  1. Peel garlic cloves and slice centers 1/8 inch thick.
     
  2. Press ends through garlic press to yield 1/4 teaspoon.
     
  3. Place pressed garlic in small bowl with anchovies.
     
  4. Add parsley, butter, 1 teaspoon of oil, and garlic slices and sauté to a light golden brown, almost to a potato chip fry. Do not over-fry!
     
  5. Spread anchovy paste on toast.
     
  6. Garnish with garlic slices.

Where in the recipe does it say to slice the garlic cloves? I believe the first ingredient calls for 30 cloves of garlic, CRUSHED?
