If you love the Moscow Mule as much as we do, you may have experimented with other ways to make it. If you're anything like us, however, it's nice to have a guide instead of flying blindly in the kitchen. That's why we've tested and approved these 4 easy takes on the classic Moscow Mule recipe. Each of these delicious drinks is made with fresh lime juice and ginger beer, but the comparisons end there. Each recipe also includes ingredients that make them into something with a distinct personality. Say you're in the mood for tequila, you might want to make our Mexican Mule. Or if you prefer bourbon, it's time you try the famous Kentucky Mule. No matter which you choose to go with, you'll love how simple each of these recipes is to make, and how amazingly refreshing and tasty each of them is!

NotesPlease Note: The ingredients below are meant to fill one 16-ounce copper mug or glass.

Ingredients

  • For Kentucky Mule:
  • 1 1/2 ounce bourbon whiskey of your choice
  • ginger beer
  • fresh lime juice
  • ice
  • garnish with lime wedge
  • For Arizona Mule:
  • 1 1/2 ounce vodka
  • ginger beer
  • 1 ounce prickly pear syrup
  • ice
  • garnish with lime wedge
  • For Mexican Mule
  • 1 1/2 ounce silver tequila
  • 1/2 ounce jalapeno infused simple syrup
  • ginger beer
  • fresh lime juice
  • ice
  • garnish with jalapeno slice
  • Cuban Mule
  • 1 1/2 ounce sugar cane rum (or other light rum)
  • 1/2 ounce mint infused simple syrup
  • ginger beer
  • fresh lime juice
  • ice
  • garnish with lime wedge

Instructions

  1. For each drink, start by filling a 16-ounce copper mug or glass with ice cubes. 

  2. Add in alcohol, simple syrup, lime juice, and ginger beer.

  3. Pour contents into a cocktail shaker and shake well. If you do not have a cocktail shaker, make sure to stir your drink well so that all contents are combined.

  4. If you used a cocktail shaker, pour contents back into your copper mug or glass and garnish as directed. Cheers!
